Our Optometrists take advantage of advanced retinal imaging, as well as a variety of other techniques, to ensure your eyes are healthy, as well as to diagnose and treat eye diseases.
Toiyabe Family Services is committed to increasing community awareness about mental health concerns and spreading the message that recovery is possible. We strive to reduce stigma, increase understanding, and promote compassion for those struggling with mental health and substance use challenges. Our team provides a comprehensive healing and wellness program by integrating traditional cultural practices and Western medicine treatment modalities. Our target population consists of the seven tribal communities of the Toiyabe Indian Health Project consortium. However, our clinic is open to all community members, including non-tribal members. We open our doors in the spirit of healing the community.
Toiyabe Community Health supports patients, Elders, and families to live a healthy life, including assisting patients in times of medical need. In addition to the WIC, Elders, and Community Health programs, Public Health also oversees the Pre-Diabetes Program, funded by the CRIHB. The program efforts include capacity building within Toiyabe to prevent Diabetes, and working with patients diagnosed or at-risk of pre-Diabetes.
Purchased & Referred Care (PRC) is designed to provide for the purchase of a limited number of services not available at our clinics.

The Toiyabe Board of Directors is the governing body for Toiyabe Indian Health Project, Inc. The Board consists of two (2) tribally appointed or elected representatives from each of the seven (7) Federally Recognized Tribes in the Toiyabe service area. Each tribe also appoints one alternate to serve on the Board. All of the Board of Directors are dedicated to the continued success of the Toiyabe Indian Health Project.
The Toiyabe Indian Health Project began when the Tri-County Indian Health Project (later renamed the Toiyabe Indian Health Project) was established under leadership of nine Tribal Governments in the Eastern Sierra region. Thanks in large part to the community leaders who started the Tri-County Indian Health Project in 1968, articles of incorporation were adopted in 1971 for the Toiyabe Indian Health Project, Inc.
