Toiyabe Indian Health Project is a non-profit community health clinic for all who live in Inyo and Mono Counties. We provide medical care, dental care, dialysis, pharmacy, counseling and behavioral health services, WIC services, diabetes care and prevention, and more. Toiyabe is accepting new patients at the following clinics for certain services:

No. Toiyabe provides service to peoples of all ethnicities and races. Some programs and services offered are limited to American Indian patients only. 

If you are an American Indian, you do not need insurance to be seen at Toiyabe.

Toiyabe accepts a wide array of medical and dental insurances. A complete list can be found here.

No. Toiyabe does not provide health care insurance. If you are American Indian you may be eligible to enroll in our Purchased & Referred Care Program (formerly Contract Care) which can help pay for your healthcare costs. You may also be able to apply for Medi-Cal

Our staff are available to help navigate you through the insurance process. If you have any questions on your insurance, medical, or medicare questions, please call 760-873-6111.

The main clinic is located in Bishop, California at 250 See Vee Lane. We also have satellite clinics located in Lone Pine, California serving southern Inyo County and Bridgeport, California serving Mono County.  Our Dialysis Clinic is located in Bishop as well.

Toiyabe Indian Health Project was established in 1968 to help provide health care services to American Indians. Since then, it has grown to be a comprehensive primary care clinic. For more information on how Toiyabe was established, please visit our History page.

Multiple providers have the ability to perform a DMV physical for the purpose of getting a Class A/Commercial license. Please call our Medical Department for information on current availability, at 760-873-8461.
