Although Toiyabe has been providing basic optical services to our Native American population since 1978, we became a full service provider of Optometry in 2017 with the addition of Dr. Stuart Hiroyasu. In 2022, we expanded our Optometry department provider team with welcoming Dr. Susana Tang to the Toiyabe team. Our Optometrists take advantage of advanced retinal imaging, as well as a variety of other techniques, to ensure your eyes are healthy, as well as to diagnose and treat eye diseases.

We open our doors in the spirit of healing the community.

The Toiyabe Indian Health Project began when the Tri-County Indian Health Project (later renamed the Toiyabe Indian Health Project) was established under leadership of nine Tribal Governments in the Eastern Sierra region.
