Toiyabe Indian Health Project is a non-profit community health clinic for all who live in Inyo and Mono Counties. We provide medical care, dental care, dialysis, pharmacy, counseling and behavioral health services, WIC services, diabetes care and prevention, and more. No. Toiyabe provides service to peoples of all ethnicities and races. Some programs and services offered are limited to American Indian patients only. For example, our Family Services programs only serve American Indians.

Toiyabe is accepting new patients at the following clinics for certain services:

  • Bishop Clinic: medical patients
  • Lone Pine Clinic: medical and dental patients
  • Coleville Clinic: medical and dental patients

If you are American Indian, you do not need insurance to be seen at Toiyabe.

If you are non-Indian, you do not need health insurance to be seen at our Lone Pine and Coleville clinics. Our Lone Pine and Coleville clinics provide low-cost, sliding scale healthcare services based on your income level.

If you are uninsured, you can be seen at the Lone Pine or Coleville Clinic, with a sliding fee system, which determines cost based on your household income. We try to make healthcare as affordable as possible for those in need of healthcare services—but we are not a free clinic.

Staff at our Coleville Clinic can help you enroll in Covered California if you do not have insurance, and would like to begin the enrollment process.

If you already have insurance, payment may vary depending on what type of insurance you have.

No. Toiyabe does not provide health care insurance. If you are American Indian you may be eligible to enroll in our Purchased & Referred Care Program (formerly Contract Care) which can help pay for you healthcare costs.

We also have satellite clinics located in Lone Pine, California serving southern Inyo County and Coleville, California serving Mono County.  Our Dialysis Clinic is located in Bishop as well.
