Hello Toiyabe Community,
As you may know, Toiyabe has been receiving doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. To date we have vaccinated over 400 people with the first of two doses. Toiyabe has several thousand active patients. Because of the limited number of vaccine at this time, we will not be able to vaccinate everyone until we receive more. In order to get the vaccine to the people who are most at risk we continue to follow the recommendation of IHS, CDC, and all other public health officials. Their recommendation was created by the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, and prioritizes people as follows:
Per ACIP: Phase 1a is: health care personnel and long-term care facility residents. Phase 1b is: persons age 75 years and older and non–health care frontline essential workers. Phase 1c is: persons aged 65–74 years, persons aged 16–64 years with high-risk medical conditions, and essential workers not included in Phase 1b
If you are a Toiyabe patient and you fall under one of these categories, you will be receiving a call from our team in the coming days until we have used all of the vaccine that we currently have. If you fall into one of these categories, and you have not yet received a phone call, please call to ensure that we have your most updated phone number. As we get additional vaccine, we will continue to work through our patients who meet these criteria.
Additionally, please find additional information regarding criteria for testing, including to find out if the CDC recommends that you get tested, at this link.
